Game instructions, strategy hints

GOAL:

The objective of Bloxster is to capture all of the blocks on the game board into your color. A mixture of UP and DOWN in the same color is considered a win.

RULES:

Players take turns choosing which block on the board to touch. The blocks all start UP, and change according to these three simple rules:

  1. When you press any UP block, it changes to a DOWN block in the same color, taking all of its matching neighbors along with it.
  2. When you press your opponent's DOWN block, it toggles to your UP block, taking all of its matching neighbors along with it. This is how you can capture the board.
  3. When you press your own DOWN block, that block only changes to your opponent's UP block, regardless of any matching neighbors. This gives you a way to break up a solid region of your own DOWN blocks.

You may preview your moves by pressing and holding on the screen. When you let go, your move will be made using the block under your finger.

STRATEGY:

The player who can successfully force the game board to contain one single region of DOWN blocks in the opponent's color can win the game on the next move with Rule No. 2.
It is therefore important to avoid letting your opponent force the game board to contain a single region of DOWN blocks in all your color! If you see this happening, Rule No. 3 can help you break up the region of similar blocks.
